Cottage Crisis

Well the old cottage of Shane's has once again sparked a crisis.
Shane sent an email yesterday limited the attendees to those who booked off the whole week, leaving people who had been looking forward to a fun few weekends to disappointment. It's hard to organize a pseudo-group event when you have to limit the amount of group members.

Shane is only allowed to have a limited number of people (8 or so) at his cottage, and many more than that may jeopardize his ability to host other parties there in the future.

There was some confusion with the invitation process as well, some people thought they were able to attend, and some were invited by Shane and some heard other people mentioning it in such a way as to indicate it was open invite, etc. So in the end there was too many people.

Unconventional Wisdom - Game Show

Went to the pilot taping of Unconventional Wisdom last night at Oriole Park.

Jake won the first taping of the gameshow pilot, knocking out Julie by giving her the category of Vice-Presidents. Mark came in a close 2nd, and would have tied possibly if Jake hadn't chose for him to spell something (which made him lose a point when he failed to). Jake got to pick for someone to spell something as a bonus followup to a question he got right, and he was in the lead when it came time to pick 3 categories. Jake assigned Mark to Capital Cities and Julie to VP's and took Movie Characters for himself.

It was kinda fun, some of the radio contest winners were aghast at the low-tech reception hall and set that it was held at. Someone said "It smells like a barn in here", while others laughed. But no one seemed to leave early.

Game Show Qualifiers

Julie (MacDonald), Jake & Mark qualified for one of the tapings of the gameshow. 3 others (Julie's friend Sarah, and 2 other people named Adam and Brice) qualified for the 2nd taping.

These tapes will be sent to The Comedy Network for perusal. And if it does turn into a gameshow the contestants (and perhaps those who didn't qualify) will be at the top of the list for contestants on the televised version.

New Popular Culture Trivia Gameshow Pilot

Wendy Nesseth (Brent's Aunt) called me last night after getting my number from Brent who suggested I'd be able to help her out with some contestants for a new game show pilot to be taped at Oriole Park. I was a little surprised by the last-minute call, but I managed to dredge up some people who were willing to head to the pre-screening audition tonight. (Vicki, Mark, Adam, Craig, maybe Jake). Wendy runs some day-to-day operations at the park, which is just outside of Mount Brydges and Komoka. She also runs on air productions.

Brent suggested that I'd be a good candidate (along with Dave, Shane, Jake, Sean), but due to my horrendous fear of failure I could only be an audience member and liaison.

The trivia gameshow pilot is being produced by one of the former producers for the Mike Bullard Show/Open Mike, and will deal with trivia regarding Popular Culture for people under 35.

Mike Bullard was 'booed' off the air in March, which in my opinion was LONG OVERDUE! (Article)
