Cottage Crisis

Well the old cottage of Shane's has once again sparked a crisis.
Shane sent an email yesterday limited the attendees to those who booked off the whole week, leaving people who had been looking forward to a fun few weekends to disappointment. It's hard to organize a pseudo-group event when you have to limit the amount of group members.

Shane is only allowed to have a limited number of people (8 or so) at his cottage, and many more than that may jeopardize his ability to host other parties there in the future.

There was some confusion with the invitation process as well, some people thought they were able to attend, and some were invited by Shane and some heard other people mentioning it in such a way as to indicate it was open invite, etc. So in the end there was too many people.

The thig I don't understand is, wouldn't have clicked in to ask Shane first if it was cool to go to his cottage before you assume your invited? Seeing as there was this big stupid confusion and Shane hating last time.

    Dear Anonymous:

It may be that people didn't think they had to ask for an invite (if they thought it was open-invitation, as many people did (even myself at one point)).

If this misunderstanding happened before, then wouldn't it make sense to make sure this was cleared up and verify your invitation before you book time off and it exploded into true GD radness?

I'm not trying to upset anyone but I don't think people should be upset with Shane over this as he never really offered an open invitation. Perhaps shoot the person that did say there was an open invitation instead or just live and let live.

and, this is -s*, I am sure you guessed that.
